Creating color separations is a process that depends on a number of factors, from the source image, to the paper and the inks used, and all the steps in between. While it is definitely a science, not an "art", the process is complex enough and involves enough factors under the control of your print shop (and not you!) that good (or great!) results are reliably obtained only by those who have had some experience. |

Color separations for Screen Printing
Separations are grouped into three basic types: Simulated process, Process color, and Custom colors.
Simulated Process:
The simulated process technique offers you the ability to print full color images on light or dark colors. Any combination of the 12 basic colors can be used. (see list)
Process color:
Process color separations are generated using screen print specific profiles and hand adjusted for optimal performance. Generally a highlight white screen is recommended to control dot gain in the lighter color ranges. Bump plates can be added as custom colors if required for color matching or print stability. Process colors are recommended for white garments only.
Custom colors:
Custom colors may be added to other separation processes or used to create entire separations. Custom colors are any color outside of the basic process or simulated process sets.
The price difference for additional custom colors is charged on a per color basis.
